Advocacy

      OUR ADVOCACY

We advocate for a number of  different issues that affect the every day lives of people

We speak on behalf of people who cannot speak for themselves.

We speak for people that are under priviledged and need help in their various situations.

Below are a few of our major advocacy campaigns

Advocacy Campaigns

  1. Domestic Violence
We advocate against domestic violence. Domestic violence is defined as the willful intimidation, physical assault, battery, sexual assault, and/or other abusive behavior as a part of a systematic pattern of power and control perpetuated by one intimate partner against another. Domestic Violence includes physical violence, sexual violence, threats, and emotional/psychological abuse.
  2. Girl Child Marriage
We advocate against girl child marriages. Nigeria ranks 13th among the 20 countries with the highest rate of child marriages; 16 of them are African nations. Over 23 million girls in Nigeria are victims of child marriage. Out of this number one in three women and girls aged 15-24 has been victim of violence while one in five has experienced physical violence. Marriage before the age of 18 years is a violation of the Child’s Right Act and a number of international human rights conventions.
  3. Genital Mutilation
We advocate against Female genital mutilation (FGM) Female Genital Mutilation ( FGM) refers to all procedures involving partial or total removal of the female external genitalia or other injury to the female genital organs for non-medical reasons. FGM is a violation of girls’ and women’s human rights.
  4. Rape & Sexual Assault
We advocate against Rape and sexual assault. Rape is a criminal offense which is an act of having forcible sexual relations with a person against that person's will. Rape is the commission of unlawful sexual intercourse or unlawful sexual intrusion.
  5. Girl Child Education
We advocate for the education of the girl child. Without education, the female child has fewer opportunities of living her dreams. Without education the girl child is robbed of the opportunity to become someone great in future and of contributing positively her own quota to the society, thereby making her prone to child or early marriage.
  6. Widows & Orphans Care
We advocate for the rights of widows and of orphans so that they can get the necessary financial and emotional support they need at the lowest points of their lives.
